During the 2009-2010 academic year, STEP funded a proposal to renovate the current computer laboratory in Stephens Hall (located on the first floor).  The renovations will include:

For the Spring 2015 cycle, twelve (12) awards totaling $555,568.52 were funded by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Student Technology Enhancement Program (STEP). Of the those proposals funded, five (5) will have an annual sustainability fund impact of $74,271.90 (average $14,854.38/project). Interestingly, this cycle, three (3) of the five (5) "sustainable" projects were SMART Classrooms/TEC rooms and the remaining were network/wireless infrastructure projects.  SMART Classrooms and TEC rooms continue to be very popular with our students.

The STEP Sustainability Program has recently added new software to it's repertoire available in the campus open-use computer laboratories. Partnering with the College of Business and the Graduate School SGA President, the University has subscribed to the IBM SPSS Campus Value Program.  IBM® SPSS Campus Edition is a 12-month, campus-wide license agreement that makes it easier for colleges and universities to meet the analytical software needs of students, faculty and researchers.

For the Spring 2014 cycle, eleven (11) awards totaling $483,722.33 were funded by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Student Technology Enhancement Program (STEP). Of the those proposals funded, seven (7) will have an annual sustainability fund impact of $82,193.90 (average $11,741.99/project). Interestingly, this cycle, five (5) of the seven (7) "sustainable" projects were network/wireless infrastructure projects and the remaining two were SMART Classrooms/TEC rooms.

For the Spring 2013 cycle, nineteen (19) awards totaling $376,812.60 were funded by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Student Technology Enhancement Program (STEP).  Of the those proposals funded, five (5) will have an annual sustainability fund impact of $33,034.10 (average $6,606.82/project).

A mechanism has been put in place for the maintenance and support of the student funded technologies on campus.  On April 15, 2010, the STEP Council approved a STEP Sustainability Plan designed to ensure that laboratories, smart classrooms, and infrastructure funded by STEP can be maintained and continue to provide satisfactory service to students.  The Plan allocates one third (33%) of STEP revenues to a fund for the following six primary purposes:
