Oracle/Peoplesoft ERP Presentation

Please mark April 27th, 2010 on your calendar and be ready to engage Oracle/Peoplesoft in an interactive preview of their Higher Education ERP product.  Your participation is paramount to our success in selecting a vendor that can provide solutions that best fit our needs.  I encourage you to invite key members of your staff involved in the assessment/evaluation process and other University constituents that you feel might be interested in the presentations.

The attached PDF document contains a schedule of events and presentations for the day.  The morning General Session will open with a brief introduction by President Savoie followed by each vendor presenting general topics such as company background, company vision, portal integration, user interface, system integration, workflow, and conclude with a brief opportunity to ask questions.  This general overview presentation will be followed by all day breakout sessions that include topics such as recruiting and admissions, curriculum development, financial aid, housing, human resource management, payroll, accounting, budgeting, procurement, grants and contracts, reporting and analysis and technology.  The last session of the day will be a meeting with the University Council and the vendor to discuss implementation strategy and methodology.  This session will consist of a presentation by the vendor followed by a candid discussion of what we can expect from the vendor in terms of the implementation.

The presentations are scheduled to take place at the Crowne Plaza (formally Hotel Acadiana) on Pinhook Road and will start at 7:30 a.m.  Although you are welcome to stay all day, the schedule is designed to facilitate minimal time away from the office and allow each participant to select the topics most relevant to their specific area of expertise or interest.

The Sungard/Banner presentation is scheduled for May 4th, 2010 using the same schedule and location.  Please begin planning to attend this session.  If Plans change, I will keep you informed and up to date.

I am very excited about this project and hope that we all share this sentiment.  Thanks for your input, efforts and continued support!
